ATP, HEAD/Penn Offer $1 million for Perfect Bracket © ATP

The ATP is offering fans the chance to become $1 million richer. The 2006 Penn $1,000,000 Pick ‘Em Contest presented by HEAD, to be played during the ATP Masters Series event in Cincinnati, Ohio, will award top dollar for a perfect bracket.
To win the $1 million prize, a participant must correctly predict winners of all matches in the 64-player singles main draw at the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, the seventh ATP Masters Series event of the season being held from August 14-20. Other prizes – including $2,500 worth of HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports product, amounts of $1,000 and $500, and various tennis merchandise – will be awarded to top finishers.
Registration is free and opens Tuesday, August 8, on ATPtennis.com. Participants must lock in their picks two hours before the scheduled start time of main draw play Monday, August 14, and can track their status and the overall Pick ‘Em standings on the site throughout the duration of the tournament. Features on ATPtennis.com, such as player Head-to-Head presented by HEAD, can assist participants in making their choices. “The 2006 Penn $1,000,000 Pick ‘Em Contest is an exciting initiative designed to engage the fan,” said Phil Anderton, ATP Chief Marketing Officer. “Participants have one million reasons to carefully study the draw using the comprehensive statistical features on ATPtennis.com and to follow tournament coverage from the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, much of it available both on television and online at atpmastersseries.tv. The ATP and long-standing partner HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports are excited to present tennis fans worldwide the opportunity to take their best shot at winning a million dollars.”
If there is a potential $1 million winner, or winners, following the August 19 semifinals, the ATP and HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports will fly in the contestant(s) and provide special box seats for the final, housing, transportation and a meeting with the finalists. “If you’ve picked 62 matches correctly, we want you there to watch the 63rd match in person,” said Anderton.
The ATP expanded its partnership with sports equipment leader HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports earlier this year that saw HEAD become the ‘Official Tennis Racquet and Tennis Bag of the ATP.’ The sponsorship joined Penn’s existing sponsorship as the ‘Official Ball of the ATP’ and Official Ball of the Tennis Masters Cup.’ Penn additionally sponsors 14 tournaments worldwide, including the nine ATP Masters Series events.
